Jonathan Jeyarajah
President
Jonathan Jeyarajah is a dedicated Nuclear Engineer at Ontario Power Generation (OPG), specializing in reactor physics and fuel management for Pickering Units 5–8. With over four years of experience in the nuclear industry, including prior roles at Kinectrics in business development, project engineering and licensing, Jonathan brings a unique blend of technical expertise and strategic insight to his leadership.
As President of the NAYGN Durham Chapter, Jonathan leads a team committed to advancing nuclear advocacy, professional development and public education. He previously served as the chapter’s Professional Development Chair, where he successfully organized high-impact events including technical lunch-and-learns and career-building networking sessions.

Elton Nazareth
Vice President
Elton Nazareth is an accomplished professional with a background in Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy and Nuclear Thermal Engineering. He has experience in various technical and management roles across multiple industries.
Currently, he is part of the Drills and Training team at OPG, focusing on Enterprise Emergency Management. Elton is passionate about contributing to non-profits, as he serves as the treasurer for the Knights of Columbus in Bowmanville and co-chair the Young Professional Network (YPN) Equity Committee. Committed to innovation and sustainability, he strives to drive positive change in the energy sector and in his new role as the VP for NAYGN Durham.

Liam Greer
Liam Greer is the returning Social and Networking Chair for the NAYGN Durham Chapter.
Within the nuclear industry, he plays a key role in the Station Engineering department at the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station. In his personal time, Liam entertains himself with a number of hobbies from music to cooking and even international competitive sport (Dragon Boat). Liam has been a part of the NAYGN Durham Chapter since 2023, organizing events like the annual Dragon Boat team, Christmas party, Blue Jays game, bowling and more! He is looking forward to continuing this, bringing NAYGN members together in a more social atmosphere.

Jessica Rajarathnam
Jessica Rajarathnam is a passionate Nuclear Engineering graduate with 8+ years of experience in the nuclear industry. Currently, she is a Senior Technical Engineer/Officer in Performance Engineering at OPG, focusing on optimizing the performance and safety of nuclear waste management.
Prior to this role, Jessica worked as a Senior Design Engineer at Western Waste Management Facility, OPG; and as a Radioactive Waste Characterization Specialist at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, where she developed extensive expertise in waste characterization and management strategies. Throughout her career, she has had the privilege of being an active member of both the NAGYN Chalk River and NAGYN Bruce Power chapters, where she’s connected with industry professionals and contributed to the field's growth.

Calista Jonah
Calista, a Chemical Engineering graduate from Western University, began her career at OPG as part of the inaugural Project Management New Graduate cohort in Spring 2023. Since joining the nuclear industry, she has gained diverse experience across various groups, including Pickering Nuclear Projects, Advanced Inspection and Maintenance, Darlington New Nuclear Projects and Project Services.
Passionate about educating the public, Calista has excelled as Public Outreach Chair, successfully tripling the team’s size in the past year. With a strong background in project management and outreach, she is committed to fostering meaningful connections between NAYGN and the public.

Rimza Deen
With a background in project management and stakeholder engagement, Rimza is passionate about leadership development, professional growth and community building. As a former board member of the Australian Red Cross, she played a key role in strategic planning, volunteer engagement and capacity-building initiatives. Her experience in governance, mentorship and community outreach has equipped her with the skills to foster inclusive professional networks and create impactful learning opportunities.

Avleen Sindhar
Avleen Sindhar is currently a Professional Engineering Year student at OPG in Darlington Nuclear Projects. She is studying Electrical Engineering at University of Toronto, with interests in Project Management and the Nuclear/Power Systems Industry.
Avleen served as the Communications Officer for NAYGN Durham Chapter since May 2024 and is looking forward to continuing in the team as Communications Chair.

Desmond Flowers
Desmond Flowers is an Engineer in Training and graduate of McMaster University's Engineering Physics and Society program, with a specialization in Nuclear Engineering. He is an active member of NAYGN Durham's Professional Development Team since 2022.
